Duquesne University Student Nurses' Association (DUSNA)

What is DUSNA?
DUSNA is a professional organization interested in contributing to nursing education by volunteerism, thereby contributing to the community and university. Our organization strives to keep abreast of the current healthcare issues and concerns, legislation and other prudent issues at a preprofessional stage by speaking out and attending various conventions and bi-annual legislative programs. Most importantly, each and every nursing student of DUSNA grows as a whole person by their individual dedication and collaboration in striving to make a difference. When you join DUSNA you also become a member of the national organization, the National Student Nurses' Association. Two faculty members from the School of Nursing serve as DUSNA faculty advisors to the organization.

How can I join DUSNA?
Active membership is open to undergraduate students enrolled in state approved programs leading to licensure as a registered nurse. DUSNA currently represents over 1,800 nursing students from across Pennsylvania, and is run solely by its members. Annual membership fees are only $35. While every penny is important as you pursue your educational goal, the money invested in your DUSNA/NSNA membership will offer you many rewards throughout your academic endeavors. DUSNA has a bulletin board, located in the student lounge in the School of Nursing, where communication takes place between members. Announcements, reminders of important upcoming events, meeting times and projects are posted. Check the bulletin board weekly because the date and time of our first meeting can be found there, as well as applications to join DUSNA. We invite all of you to attend our first meeting of the year so you can ask questions, hear more detailed information, and meet current members.
